Sweet Violets

Afghan Schematics are for those who already have some experience in crochet.
The afghans were all made using a Basic Round Ripple afghan pattern.
The variations of each afghan is listed in the "Afghan Schematics"
found on the individual photo page of each afghan.

This post show the photos and lists the materials used for this afghan and
also a description or "Schematic" of how it was created.

If you are new to this style afghan please read my page
Tips and Tricks of the Round Ripple Afghan.

The basic Round Ripple Afghan pattern
Written in American terminology

This little Afghan is made from Caron Simply Soft yarn and is basically the same as the Raspberry Sherbet Afghan except for the color and the exception I added one more petal to the flower to make it 5 instead of four.  It is created using The Basic Round Ripple Afghan Pattern.  The Afghan Schematic for color and stitch sequence is as follows:

Size  40 / 42 inches Point to Point
Materials:
2 skeins (6 oz each) Caron Simply Soft in 3 colors of your choice
Small amounts of  yarn for flowers and leaves

* Special Stitches: Popcorn Stitches:
Standard popcorn stitches are created with 4 double crochet instead of 5.

Round 26: is worked alternating 1 double crochet with 1 popcorn stitch, Count stitches from the point to the decrease and start so the point will be worked as popcorn st, ch 2, popcorn st.
Round 27: is worked with 1 dc in each dc and popcorn stitch, 2 dc, ch 2, 2 dc in each point.
Rounds 28 - 30 work per pattern repeat.

Border
Color B dc in first working stitch, picot in top of stitch, dc in same stitch, "V" with picot complete. Skip next stitch, "V" st with a picot in next st, skip next st, to point. All points work (dc, picot, dc, picot, dc, picot, dc) this amounts to 2 "V" st with a picot between them . The point should look like a little crown.

The leaf and the 4 petal flower pattern can be found on the Squiggles Page of this Blog and also on the pattern for the Raspberry Sherbet Afghan.  If you want the 5 petal flower be sure to add one more petal before you follow the finishing process of the button.
